Pole Endeavors

New endeavors with pole sport fitness! Watch my progress here at Intermediate pole since April 2016!

I wanted to track my progress from the first day of class but my inability to do much of anything entertaining besides cry, grunt, and cry some more, I waited until October to finally start recording. By that time I was at least five months into my training and more capable of lifting myself for longer than five minutes. LOL. Enjoy!

P.S. Sometimes I don’t keep this page as up to date as it should be so if you would like to see my current antics in pole you can find those here on my IG: @polesmylz_2

Almost losing my dad to a motorcycle accident the night of my birthday really put a whole lot of everything into perspective. All of the little hangers-on in my life that were bothersome has somehow lost its original significance and dropped-off. Inner-conflicts have resolved themselves magically. Past recriminations or tresspasses against me no longer seem relevant or necessary. My insecurities and personal trials seem trivial and insignificant in the face of life or death. Conversations that have been in the ether, waiting for a voice, has finally come to pass. And the unconditional love of self and others has come to the fore of my life in a blazingly bright and beautiful way. I love my father so much for all that he's sacrificed and loved in return. This dance is in dedication to him and the huge part of my heart he fills. My life would be so empty without him. Im so happy he's made of tougher stuff than most. Even though, until now, i don't say it much, I still need you in my life Pops! #somanyfeelz #daddysgirl #idedicatethisdance #tomypops #iloveyou #getwellsoon #staystrong #alwaysbyyourside #liferecalculated #lifeisprecious #everysecondcounts #blessed #thankful #grateful #mypath #spiritualgrowth #spiritualjourney #lyswinterpoleshow2016 #lyspolestudio #thinkingoutloud #poledancing #polefitness #polelife #pole #poledancer #poleperformance #onzie #badkitty Pic cred goes to @deb2ie.lin

It has taken so much for me to be comfortable in my own body. To wear revealing costumes that make me feel exposed. To smile and mean it even though im dying a little bit inside, wondering how I look. Then reflecting back on the entire night and feeling that growing sense of accomplishment and confidence in doing the very opposite of that which I wanted to do, which was hide myself. I can no longer allow anything less than self-acceptance of my entire being inside my self-worth. #iloveme #iloveyou #ilovepole #polecommunity #poledancing #polefriends #pole4life #self-love #comfortzoneblasting #manifesting #spiritualgrowth #myjourney #mypath #lyswinterpoleshow2016 #lyspolestudio #thinkingoutloud #onzie #badkitty Pic cred goes to @deb2ie.lin 😍😍😍

So after 6 months of continous training with Ly she finally felt I was ready for the Intermediate level classes. I've been taking them now for the past couple of weeks and man is it a workout! All the students in this class are #topnotch and make me feel like im starting all over again, but then… Ly has us doing tricks and combinations that make my head spin, let alone I've never attempted, but turns out I have the strength to pull them off! Woohoo! Here's one that i can't quite complete, hence the cutoff at the end before my dismount. #butdude Did u see that Chopper transition from a No Hands Cupid to Figure Head!?!?! (I can do a No Hands Cupid?!?!?! Badass!!) Yea boi!!!! #bucketsweats #pole #pdcombo #poledancing #polefit #polefitness #polefitnessforever #poleprogress #polepower #totallyimpressingmyselfleftandrt #intermediatepole #intermediatepoletricks

#loveyourpolechallenge Day 7: The Teacher Ly's instruction and hardcore attitude is one of the biggest reasons I've progressed as far and quick as I have. She pushes and pushes and pushes you far beyond what you think you can't do only to realize, "oh shit! I did it!" Her beleif in everyone's abilities far supercedes our own and it's that energy she brings to class everyday. I find myself feeling so so lucky every new pole accomplishment to have her in my corner fighting with me and encouraging me to keep going. Thank you @lykieule for always being there to remind us we are stronger than we give ourselves credit. ❤ On this, my last day of the challenge, I nominate @lindaswantran for the next #loveyourpolechallenge #pole #poledancing #polepassion #polepower #polefitness #ilovepole #pff #polefitnessforever #lyspolestudio

#loveyourpolechallenge Day 4: The friends. In all of my life I have never met a more solid and supportive group of women in one place before. If it was @lykieule intention to build up her studio clientele like she builds up our bodies and minds, she has succeeded and then some. If only we could have been this empowering for each other back in middle or high school, huh? I can only hope my daughters find girls like these for friends. Thank you, my pole sisters (and bros!) for always being there and spotting me when i fail to hook properly. For leaning more weight into my stretch when all i wanna do is kick your face in. For "reminding" me to work my weak side and laughing with me, not at me, when my sexy looks less hotstuff and more ol'granma. You are the stuft cream to my twinkie that makes eating yellow dye #9, chemical fluff, and heart attack bombs disguised as hoho's worth it. ❤ #polesisters #polefamily #polelove #pole #poledancing #poledance #polefitness

#loveyourpolechallenge Day 3: The bruises. This one was the biggest and most painful bruise I've attained to date. Mostly due to Inside Leg Hang and Allegra. Aside from the obvious pain and leopard-like skin mottling, I've found there are actually many great benefits to pole bruises: 1. They are considered badges of honor among our pole family and frequent bouts of 'who has the best bruise' ensues almost daily. I won, hands down, every time for the three weeks it took this bruise to heal! #damngirlwhatyougotleprosy? 2. They are great ice breakers in any social situation! Well…, once you get past convincing everyone your boyfriend doesn't beat you. #ireallydidrunintoapole #idonthaveaboyfriendsohowcanhebeatme 😋 3. Other aerial acrobats met on the street recognize you as one of their own and silent eye-contact and head nods of acknowledgement are exchanged with knowing smirks. #indaclub #whatupyo😉😎 And finally, but most importantly, 4. Once the bruise is finally healed that part of your body becomes INVINCIBLE and you find you can pole ten times longer and harder than you ever poled before!!! Dun-duh-dun! #iamshe-ra! #ihavethepower! #poledancing #polepassion #polepower #pole #lyspolestudio #cantgetenough #wonteverquit #bruisemeupscotty

#loveyourpolechallenge Day 1: The workout I remember thinking 6 mths ago i seriously needed a workout routine that was gonna stick. Something that was fun and different everyday. Something that would keep me coming back and moving at least 2-3x/wk. And most especially at some place where I felt comfortable to be my weak-ass self w/o judgement or criticism. 😂 My first class @lyspolestudio was intimidating to say the least. I remember @lykieule had me stripped down to my underwear because i wore too many clothes, but since she was yelling at everyone else to do the same thing, i felt free for the first time to take off my shirt and reveal my scarred, post-prego belly to more than just my cat in a very long time. 😖😨😰 I've always had body image issues since childhood, and having children didn't help my self-confidence one bit. After only the first class though, I knew Pole Fitness was something that was not only gonna stick, but become a new lifestyle. Within the first ten minutes of class Ly was able to get me to do something so far out of my comfort zone I truly thought life would implode past this point. But the fact that it didn't, and that I've actually fallen in love with my body for the first time in my life, I know this is where I belong. Thank you Ly and all of my pole family! ❤❤❤❤I LOVE POLE!❤❤❤❤ Thank you @vvnpole for nominating me to do the challenge! Working on my lines. I think the second one was better *pointed toes!* even tho the catch at the end was a bit rough.
